David SainAfter attaining a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Tennessee Dental School, Dr. Sain completed his formal dental education in 1982 with a Master’s Degree in Orthodontics.  Over the past 35 years, he has enjoyed a successful practice of orthodontics in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  Among the many areas of his involvement in the dental community throughout the years, he taught at Vanderbilt Medical School’s Dental Division as an Assistant Professor of Orthodontics, as well as had articles published in leading orthodontic journals.  He has also served on the Board of the Interdental Faith Clinic, Tennessee Technology Center’s Dental Assisting Program, and is presently serving on the Foundation Board of the Rutherford County Drug Court.

While being a member of the Tennessee Dental Association’s Wellness Committee for 14 years and serving as the Chairman for 10 years, he has studied and gained extensive knowledge concerning substance use disorders, and has had articles published on subjects such as “Genetics of Chemical Dependency” and “Interoffice Intervention for Chemical Dependency.” He has served on two of Govern Haslam’s Commissions; including the “Tennessee Commission on Pain and Addiction Medicine Education.”

Having sold his orthodontic practice, his main focus and attention now is serving as the Director of the Tennessee Dental Wellness Foundation Program.


Angie Hostetler, NCAC, LADAC II, SAP, CTP
Director

Angie Hostetler graduated from Western Michigan University, married her high school sweetheart, who played professional baseball for the Milwaukee Brewers, and began her new role as a baseball players wife. Angie enjoyed traveling with the ball club and living in various cities throughout the US before settling in Nashville TN in 1995. Over the past 25 years, she has worked in the addiction field in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including private practice. Angie is a Nationally Certified Addictions Counselor, a Tennessee State Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, a Substance Abuse Professional, and a Certified Trauma Professional. Her career has been dedicated to helping people who suffer from the disease of addiction. Her passion for assisting others is evident, she has a servant’s heart. Angie joined the Wellness Foundation in October of 2021 as the Director. She enjoys working for the foundation, meeting new people, and interacting with the staff. She also enjoys hiking, traveling, shopping, volunteering, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and son.


Suzanne Tschannen, RDA                                                                                                                          Executive Assistant

Suzanne Tschannen has been a registered dental assistant for 25 years. She has worked primarily in orthodontics and has been in clinical and administrative roles. She joined the wellness foundation in April of 2022 as executive assistant to the directors and is committed to helping others. She enjoys walking her dogs, kayaking, playing with her grandchildren and attending her son’s soccer games.
